For the second consecutive year, Quinta do Reguengo—Família Cardoso's estate located in the Douro Superior—has once again distinguished itself at one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions. The Cortes do Reguengo Reserva Red was awarded 95 points (Gold medal) at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026, reinforcing the brand's consistency and market standing.
"It stands out for a surprising combination of aromas: blackberry, cassis, cedar, and dark chocolate. Its firm, well-defined structure and polished tannins lead to a long, persistent finish marked by delicate coffee notes," states the organization's tasting note.
Held annually, the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) are widely recognized as one of the industry's most influential wine competitions. All wines undergo blind tasting. This year, the judging panel comprised 245 experts from 35 countries—including Masters of Wine, winemakers, sommeliers, and international critics—following a rigorous evaluation process.
Quinta do Reguengo operates according to sustainable viticulture practices and holds the Sustainable Wine Growing Portugal certification. This latest recognition reinforces the Cardoso family's commitment to championing the Douro region through wines that seek to reflect the identity of their terroir.
